To see previous releases for Conversational AI from Microsoft in March, see <a href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/conversational-ai-updates-for-march-2019\/\">this post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-bot-framework-v4-template-for-qna-maker\">New Bot Framework v4 Template for QnA Maker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The QnA Maker service lets you easily create and manage a knowledge base from your data, including FAQ pages, support URLs, PDFs, and doc files. You can test and publish your knowledge base and then connect it to a bot using a bot framework sample or template. With this update we have simplified the bot creation process by allowing you to easily create a bot from your knowledge base, without the need for any code or settings changes. Find more details on creating a QnA bot on our <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/cognitive-services\/qnamaker\/tutorials\/create-qna-bot\">tutorials page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After you publish your knowledge base, you can create a bot from the publish page with the Create Bot button. If you have previously created bots, you can click on \u201cView all\u201d to see all the bots that are linked to your current subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cb361cc6-96e3-4fc7-9b4d-5b6f28506799.webp\" alt=\"fig1\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" title=\"fig1\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will lead you to a create template in the Azure portal with all your knowledge base details pre-filled in. Your KB ID is connected to the template automatically, and your endpoint key is pre-populated and should not be changed. You can choose to change some of your pre-filled settings (location, resource name, etc). With the single click of a button your bot can now be deployed. Once you have hit create, wait for a few minutes till your web app bot is deployed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/97d60c6b-1f1d-480a-a760-3fdec7badae2.webp\" alt=\"fig2\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" title=\"fig2\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once created, you can now test your bot by opening your bot resource and clicking on \u201cTest in Web Chat\u201d. At this point you can chat with your bot and see answers show up from your knowledge base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/77514e58-d494-442f-a79f-841e2af4f9d8.webp\" alt=\"fig3\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" title=\"fig3\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"qna-maker-supports-extraction-from-sharepoint-files\">QnA Maker supports extraction from SharePoint files<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add secured SharePoint data sources to your knowledge base to enrich the knowledge base with questions and answers that may be secured with Active Directory. You can now easily collaborate with others in your organization on source data and connect it to your QnA Maker knowledge base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can add all currently supported QnA Maker file types from a SharePoint location, instead of loading offline files. From your SharePoint file select the appropriate file\u2019s URL and add that as a source to your knowledge base in the settings page, or during creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image has-custom-border\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2c5aa11d-0e51-45a2-ab77-e54f0c2f1d9c.webp\" alt=\"fig4\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" title=\"fig4\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first time you add a SharePoint secured file you will need to explicitly authenticate your Active Directory account and grant permission to QnA Maker through your Active Directory manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find more details on adding SharePoint Sources in QnA Maker in <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/cognitive-services\/qnamaker\/how-to\/add-sharepoint-datasources\">&#8220;Add a secured Sharepoint data source to your knowledge base&#8221; documentation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"qna-maker-help-bot\">QnA Maker help bot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are also excited to announce we recently added the QnA Maker help bot to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qnamaker.ai\/\">QnA Maker page<\/a>.
