We are excited to introduce the preview of bursting support on Azure Premium SSD Disks, and new disk sizes 4/8/16 GiB on both Premium & Standard SSDs. Eligible Premium SSD disks can now burst up to 30x of the provisioned performance target, providing better handling for spiky workloads.

At Build Conference, we announced the addition of new Azure Disks sizes – which provide up to 4TB of disk space. These new sizes allow you to perform up to 250 MBps of storage throughput and 7,500 IOPS. The details of the announcement are captured in the build session here.
