Monthly updates for Azure Backup: August 2020
Azure Backup for SAP HANA databases running on RHEL is now generally available
On August 1, 2020, Azure Backups support for HANA databases running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) became generally available. This offering is available across all Azure regions except for Germany Northeast, Germany Central, France South, and US Gov IOWA.
Improvements to Azure VM backups are now available
Azure Backup now supports restoring unmanaged VMs/Disks as Managed Disks, backup for Virtual Machine Scale Sets, and allows replacing existing disks for VMs with Managed Service Identity
Encryption of backup data using customer managed keys is in public preview
Use self-managed RSA keys stored in the Azure Key Vault to encrypt your backups and maintain full control of your data.
Selective disks backup for Azure Virtual Machine is in public preview
Optimize your costs and enjoy faster backup and restore operations by selectively backing up a subset of the data disks in a VM.
