Using your Azure Virtual Network Manager network groups in the source and/or destination of security admin rules is now in public preview, enabling users to achieve network isolation across different environments and manage network segments more easily at scale.

Azure Virtual Network Manager's security admin rule configuration is now generally available in 45 regions, empowering users to enforce security rules across their virtual networks globally.
Public preview: ExpressRoute Metro for High Resiliency
ExpressRoute lets you extend your on-premises networks into the Microsoft cloud over a private connection with the help of a connectivity provider. With ExpressRoute, you can establish connections to Microsoft cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.

Migrate to Azure Front Door Standard or Premium by 31 March 2027, when Front Door (classic) will be retired.
General availability: Rate Limiting on ExpressRoute Direct Circuits
Rate Limiting is now generally available over ExpressRoute Direct port circuits, providing enhanced control over bandwidth usage. This Quality of Service (QoS) feature prevents circuits from bursting beyond their configured bandwidth, thereby improving network performance and reliability. Rate Limiting can be enabled for each circuit individually, offering flexibility to prioritize certain circuits. This feature can be activated during or after the creation of the ExpressRoute Direct circuit.
Public preview: Public IP Domain Name Label Scope
Announcing the public preview for a new capability in Azure public IP address that can prevent DNS subdomain takeover while still allowing for re-use of DNS names.
Generally available: Application Gateway (v2) IPv6 support
Azure Application Gateway v2 enables dual-stack (IPv4 and IPv6) connectivity from the clients, providing more flexible and reliable access to the backend Applications.
General availability: Listener TLS certificates management in the Azure portal
You can now manage the TLS certificates associated with Listeners through Azure portal.
Microsoft open sources Retina: A cloud-native container networking observability platform
The Microsoft's Azure Container Networking team is announcing Retina, a cloud-native container networking observability platform that enables Kubernetes users, admins, and developers to visualize, observe, debug, and analyze Kubernetes’ workload traffic irrespective of Container Network Interface (CNI), operating system (OS), and cloud.
Retirement: Support for Application Gateway Web Application Firewall v2 Configuration is ending
Target retirement date: March 15, 2027
On 15 March 2027, the Application Gateway WAF v2 Configuration will be retired. To continue using this service, switch to the Application Gateway WAF v2 Policy before the retirement date.

Public preview: Internet inbound for Network Virtual Appliances in Virtual WAN Hubs
Public preview for internet inbound (Destination NAT) capabilities for Next-Generation Firewall Network Virtual Appliances deployed in the Virtual WAN hub. Destination NAT allows network administrators to publish applications to the broader internet through a public IP address assigned to a Firewall Network Virtual Appliance deployed in a Virtual WAN hub.
General availability: Application Gateway for Containers
Application Gateway for Containers is the next evolution to Application Gateway's Ingress Controller; bringing performance, scale, deployment, and feature enhancements.
Public preview: Azure Application Gateway introduces support for TLS and TCP protocols
TLS and TCP protocol support now available through Azure Application Gateway.
Azure Firewall: Flow Trace Logs and Autoscaling based on number of connections are now generally available
Flow Trace Logs provide more visibility into the TCP handshake, providing insight into whether traffic is properly flowing through the firewall. In addition, Azure Firewall can now autoscale based on number of connections, providing more scaling adaptability to dynamic workloads.
Azure Firewall: Parallel IP Group update support is now in public preview
Parallel IP Group support enables administrators to simultaneously update multiple IP Groups in a firewall, streamlining the process of implementing devOps changes.
