Create and Deploy a templateSpec

This sample creates and deploys a templateSpec resource within the same template. This is not a typical pattern just meant to show how the templateSpec and the deployment resources are meant to work together.

This Azure Resource Manager (ARM) template was created by a member of the community and not by Microsoft. Each ARM template is licensed to you under a licence agreement by its owner, not Microsoft. Parameter Name Description
templateSpecSubscriptionId SubscriptionId of the subscription that contains the templateSpec to deploy
templateSpecResourceGroupName Name of the resourceGroup that contains the templateSpec
templateSpecName Name of the templateSpec
templateSpecVersion Version for this instance of the templateSpec
location Location for all resources created by the templateSpec.

Use the template


New-AzResourceGroup -Name <resource-group-name> -Location <resource-group-location> #use this command when you need to create a new resource group for your deployment
New-AzResourceGroupDeployment -ResourceGroupName <resource-group-name> -TemplateUri
