Backup Resource Manager VMs using Recovery Services vault

This template will use existing recovery services vault and existing backup policy, and configures backup of multiple Resource Manager VMs that belong to same resource group

Parameters

Parameter Name Description
existingVirtualMachinesResourceGroup Resource group where the virtual machines are located. This can be different than resource group of the vault.
existingVirtualMachines Array of Azure virtual machines. e.g. ["vm1","vm2","vm3"]
vaultName Name of the Recovery Services Vault
isNewVault Conditional parameter for New or Existing Vault
policyName Backup policy to be used to backup VMs. Backup POlicy defines the schedule of the backup and how long to retain backup copies. By default every vault comes with a 'DefaultPolicy' which canbe used here.
isNewPolicy Conditional parameter for New or Existing Backup Policy
location Location for all resources.

New-AzResourceGroup -Name <resource-group-name> -Location <resource-group-location> #use this command when you need to create a new resource group for your deployment
