We’re announcing that ServiceNow® ITOM Discovery is now integrated with Microsoft’s Azure Resource Graph, enabling faster and scalable discovery of your organization’s Azure estate within operational workflows.

ServiceNow’s ITOM Discovery and service mapping for Azure provides organizations with an up-to-date configuration management database (CMDB) view of their IT infrastructure and services running in Azure. This discovery data within CMDB then powers various workflows and applications within ServiceNow that enable organizations to increase their operational agility. Azure Resource Graph is an Azure service that provides high-performance exploration of Azure cloud resources along with the ability to query at scale across multiple subscriptions and across tenants using Azure Lighthouse.

For our joint customers seeking a comprehensive end-to-end view of their Azure estates through ServiceNow’s experiences, this switch to Azure Resource Graph APIs within ServiceNow’s ITOM Discovery, provides the following benefits:

  • Support for discovery of large Azure environments containing hundreds or tens of thousands of resources.
  • Four times faster discovery of customers' Azure estate based on ServiceNow benchmarks.
  • Enhanced visibility into the cost-savings of Azure Hybrid Benefit licensing.
  • Fast, automated creation of service maps using Azure tag data.

“As more customers migrate to Azure and extend Azure to on-premises with Azure Arc, the ability to use existing workflow tools consistently becomes essential. With this integration, customers will benefit from richer and faster discovery of the largest Azure estates within ServiceNow’s ITOM discovery experiences, ultimately leading to better operational decisions,” said Jeremy Winter, Partner Director of Program Management, Azure Management and Portal Experiences, Microsoft.

“We are excited our customers will be able to unlock the power of ServiceNow workflows across the entire IT value chain when integrating Azure resource data into the Now Platform® using the high performance querying capabilities of Azure Resource Graph, creating a unified, service-aware platform for IT Service Management, IT Operations Management, AIOps, CloudOps, DevOps, SecOps, software asset management, risk management, and more,” said Jeff Hausman, Vice President and General Manager ITOM, Security and CMDB at ServiceNow. “Ultimately enabling seamless experiences for their employees and customers.”
