The Azure Monitor team is hosting a special Ask Me Anything session on Twitter, Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Pacific Time. You can tweet to @AzureMonitor or @AzureSupport with #AzureMonitorAMA.

What's an AMA session?

AMA stands for Ask Me Anything – this is an opportunity for Twitter users to send questions directly to the Azure Monitor Engineering team. We will be on standby to answer any questions you have about our products, services, or even our team!

Why are you doing an AMA?

We want to hear more from our customers and the community. We want to know how you use Azure, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics, and how your experience has been. Your questions provide insights into how we can make the service better.

How do I ask questions on Twitter?

You can ask us your questions by putting “#AzureMonitorAMA” in your tweet. Your question can span multiple tweets by replying to first tweet you post with this hashtag. You can also directly message @AzureMonitor or @AzureSupport if you want to keep your questions private. You can start posting your questions before the scheduled time of the AMA, but we will start answering only during the event time. This is to help customers who are in different time zone and who can’t attend the event during this specific hour of the day. You can catch us for a live conversation during the scheduled hours. If there are further follow-ups, we will continue the dialogue post event time. Go ahead and tweet us!

Who will be there?

Program Managers and Developers from the Azure Monitor team will be participating. Have any questions about the following topics? Bring them to the AMA.

  • Application Insights
  • Log Analytics
  • Azure Data Explorer
  • Azure Monitor Alerts
  • Application performance monitoring
  • Infrastructure monitoring – VMs
  • Monitoring containers and Kubernetes
  • Monitoring Service Fabric
  • Anything monitoring related!

What kinds of questions can I ask?

You really can ask anything you’d like, but here’s a list of question ideas to get you started:

  • What’s the difference between events, logs, and metrics?
  • Can I use Azure Monitor with my applications running on-premises and on other clouds?
  • How does Azure Monitor fit in to my existing DevOps toolchain?
  • Why is monitoring important for a DevOps organization?
  • How can I try Azure Monitor for free?

We're looking forward to having a conversation with you!
