As part of our ongoing exercise of making details about the SQL Azure service more transparent by increasing customer awareness, we have updated the Causes of Connection Termination section on the Connection Management for SQL Azure wiki page on TechNet. The wiki page now lists the limits imposed on applications due to throttling, long transactions as well as other causes of connection termination in SQL Azure. The information includes errors returned to the application in each case, the types of requests throttled and the recommendations for possible mitigations. A limits table has also been added for quick reference. Please refer to the new Wiki page to help you design, develop and debug your SQL Azure applications.
