Several weeks ago, we announced support for the new G-series sizes for Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines. These sizes offer up to 32 vCPUs using the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5 v3 family, 448GB of memory, and 6.59 TB of local Solid State Drive (SSD) space.

Given the growing demand we are seeing, we accelerated the release of another region, US East 2! You can now deploy G-Series Virtual Machines in either US West or US East 2. We will continue to expand G-series support to other regions based on customer demand and usage.

Furthermore, note that US East 2 prices are slightly lower than the US West prices. Check it out here!
