Introducing Email notifications for Azure Site Recovery

Email notifications are a new feature for Azure Site Recovery that allows you to easily monitor the replication health of your protected virtual machines.

Email notifications are a new feature for Azure Site Recovery that allows you to easily monitor the replication health of your protected virtual machines. You can now configure your Azure Site Recovery vault to send Email notifications for interesting events. Once configured, emails are sent for Hyper-V Replica replication issues like, network connectivity failures, low bandwidth issues, recovery storage failures.

The new Events tab, accessible from the top menu of Azure Site Recovery vault, lists all replication events generated by protected Virtual machines. You can use the various dropdown filter options to understand the history of replication events.

Selecting the Notifications action in the bottom action pane of Events tab opens the Configure notifications dialog, which can be used to enable email notifications.

As always, we are working hard to extend this feature and will soon be adding support for additional events like, SAN array replication issues, DR provider connectivity issues. If you have any ideas for making the feature better or would like to have a new event added, please let us know through the Azure Site Recovery user voice forum.

So what are you waiting for?  Get started by visiting Azure management portal and enabling email notifications for Azure Site Recovery vault. If you are new to Azure, you can sign-up for a free Azure trial to get started with Azure Site Recovery.
