In just the past few months Microsoft has announced collaborations with various open projects, continuing our commitment to give developers and ITPros more open and community-driven choices with Microsoft Azure.

Today at the O’Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON), MS Open Tech is continuing that momentum by announcing two new partnerships with Packer.io and OpenNebula that enable Azure customers to manage their applications and services across different technology providers.

We also recently announced support for Docker’s libswarm project and Kubernetes, two cluster-management solutions available for Docker containers.

Together, these projects build on our commitment to supporting customers’ needs and desire for choice, allowing them to quickly build, deploy and manage applications by offering the broadest set of operating systems, languages, and services of any public cloud—from Windows, SQL and .NET to Python, Ruby, Node.js, Java, Hadoop, Linux, and Oracle.
