Do you have a great idea for a Windows Azure project but need help making it a reality? Do you live in Australia? Then today is your lucky day. Lifehacker, Gizmodo, and the Windows Azure team in Australia have joined together to create the “My Concept Rules” developer contest to find great new cloud project ideas that leverages the power of Windows Azure.

All you have to do is submit your great idea (no code required) for an amazing application that leverages Windows Azure. Developers with the best, most feasible concept as determined by judging panel will get $40,000 in backing to help get their project off the ground.

Top prize also includes:

  • Consulting with Windows Azure Technical Specialist and Windows Azure MVP, Steven Nagy, who will help flesh out your idea, build a proof of concept and get your application on the road to reality.
  • A six-month subscription to Windows Azure and SQL Azure so you can continue developing your idea.
  • An ad package with Lifehacker and Gizmodo to help spread the word that your application is live!

Several runner-up prizes are also available, including the latest Xbox 360 with Kinect Console and two tickets to Remix 2011 in Sydney.
