Azure App Service hosts Ask Me Anything session

Join the App Service team on /r/Azure and ask us anything Friday, October 9 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm PDT.

The Azure App Service team will host a special “Ask Me Anything” on /r/Azure, Friday, October 9, 2015 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm PDT.

Here's a link to the AMA post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AZURE/comments/3o1ea9/ama_azure_app_service_team_109/

What's an AMA?

In this case, “Ask Me Anything” really means Ask Us Anything. We'll have folks from across the engineering team available to answer any questions you have.

Why are you doing an AMA?

We like reaching out and learning from our community. We want to know how you use Azure and Azure App Service. When you ask us questions, it gives us insights into how we can make the product better. We have plenty of other channels for feedback, but wanted to include a more interactive option to see how well it worked. If it's popular and useful, we may start doing this on a regular schedule.

Who will be there?

You, of course.

We'll also have PMs and Devs from the Azure App Plat Engineering team participating in the AMA all day.

Have any questions about the following topics? Bring them to the AMA.

  • App Service
  • App Service Environments
  • Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API Apps, Logic Apps

We’ll also have folks from other products available throughout the day as well.

  • API Management
  • Redis Cache
  • Azure Resource Manager
  • Azure Mobile Engagement
  • Mobile Services

Why should I ask questions here instead of StackOverflow or MSDN? Can I really ask anything?

An AMA is a great place to ask anything. StackOverflow and MSDN have rules on what questions belong where and Twitter only allows 140 characters to work with. With an AMA, you’ll get answers directly from the team and have a conversation with the people who build the products.

Here are some question ideas:

  • What is App Service?
  • How is App Service different from App Service Environments?
  • Why does my Node App have a Web.config added when I deploy it?
  • What is Kudu and how does it make deployments easy?
  • What's a cool trick you don't think most customers know about?
  • Best food in the cafeteria?

Go crazy. Ask us anything that's public. However, we won't be discussing anything that isn't public or announcing anything new so if you've been itching to find out GA dates for products, we'll only reference existing press releases.
