Today, we are announcing Java SDKs for Azure Data Lake Analytics and Azure Data Lake Store in public preview. This allows you to integrate big data processing and analytics from within your applications written in Java (while already integrating with C# and Node.js).

What do I get with the Java SDKs?

With these Java SDKs, you can integrate new or existing Java applications with Azure Data Lake to store and process big data.

• Azure Data Lake Analytics is a big data service that dynamically provisions resources on-the-fly making the complex task of managing distributed code and infrastructure to process big data easier. With the Java SDK, you can embed code that allows you to submit and monitor your big data (U-SQL) jobs, browse the U-SQL metadata catalog, create/manage user accounts, and anything else you can already do from within the Azure portal.
• Azure Data Lake Store is a single repository where you can easily capture data of any size, type and speed without forcing changes to your application as data scales. With the Java SDK, you can read, write, and manage items stored in the file system, manage access to your data, create/manage accounts and anything else you can already do from within the Azure portal.

To get started, customers will need to have an Azure subscription that is signed up for the public preview of Azure Data Lake Analytics/Store. With this in hand, you're ready to get started with the Java SDKs for Azure Data Lake Analytics and Store.

Initially, the Java SDKs will be available in an Azure snapshot repository, but will soon be available in the central Maven repository. The documentation will be updated to reflect this when this change occurs.
