Azure App Service regional virtual network integration for Linux apps is now available

Published date: June 11, 2020

The regional virtual network integration feature of Azure App Service that supports sending all outbound calls into your virtual network has now entered general availability.  Take advantage of this to use features like network NSGs and UDRs against all of the outbound traffic from your Linux web app. Use these new capabilities to:

  • Access endpoints in or through your virtual network.
  • Secure all outbound traffic leaving your web app.
  • Force tunnel all outbound traffic to a network appliance of your own choosing.

This feature behaves the same as regional virtual network integration for Linux apps. To use regional virtual network integration, your app must be in a standard, premium, or elastic premium App Service plan. The feature is not supported in an App Service environment which is already in a customer virtual network. Regional virtual network integration is only for outbound calls being made by your apps. It doesn’t enable private access to your apps.
