We’re retiring some Azure Site Recovery support options on 1 March 2023

Published date: 26 February, 2020

As we continue to invest in Azure Site Recovery capabilities, we’re focusing our engineering efforts on disaster recovery to Azure. As a result, we’re retiring these scenarios in Site Recovery.

  • Disaster recovery between on-premises VMware or physical server data centres won’t be supported after 31 December 2020.
  • Disaster recovery between on-premises Hyper-V hosts managed by System Center Virtual Manager Manager (VMM) won’t be supported after 1 March 2023.

After these dates, you won’t be able to view, manage or run the respective scenario in the portal. Any replication data will also be removed.

What should I do?

We recommend that, before these dates, you set up disaster recovery of VMware VMs/Hyper-V VMs to Azure. You can configure Hyper-V site-to-site disaster recovery using Hyper-V replica, but you can’t manage it with Site Recovery.
